Keep track of your food intake. It'll make you aware of your eating habits and it'll help to spot problem areas. It will also help you plan changes and set goals to motivate you.
Fill in your food diary for a few days and record the following:
Monitor your weight loss progress. If you are doing well, give yourself a reward for a job well done. But remember: rewards should be non-food items. How about a CD? Or a trip to the cinema?
