Plan & track tips

Setting the right goals

When you think about your goals, remember these golden rules. Your goals should be:

1. Specific

A goal like “exercise more” is not specific.
A more specific goal is “go for a 20-minute walk 3 times this week” instead.

2. Realistic

Starting with a goal like “walk 5km every day” is not realistic.
A more specific goal is “walk 2.5km 3 times this week” instead.

3. Measurable

A goal like “eat less biscuits” is not measurable.
A more specific goal is “eat only 2 biscuits per day this week” instead.

4. Forgiving

How many goals?

Set only two or three goals at a time.
